Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Hi folks,

So I promised a special Banjo Thimble announcement before the week is out and here it is.

I've been able to make up some German Silver Banjo Thimbles and will have them available at the Early Banjo Gathering.

I've been able to make 20 of them and I might be able to squeeze in a few more before the weekend is out.

Now before you send me an email request you should know that I will not sell these before the gathering.  What I have left I will put for sell on my website.

This metal is hard on my tooling and me to work it.  The supply of nickel silver (aka nickel brass) is erratic as well.  Because of these reasons I don't see these becoming a stock item very soon.

I plan on making a total of about 100 +/- of these.

Again, email requests for the GS Thimbles sent before the Gathering will be filed and I will follow up when I get back.

They will be $15 each (+shipping).

Brass Thimbles will continue as normal and I will have those as well.

They look great Joel.

I have a couple of questions-

Are these harder to bend than the brass ones?

Are they all one size, pretty much for men's wide sized fingers?

Do you have any slightly smaller thimbles suitable for those with smaller fingers? (I mean the overall nail shield width and length, not the adjustable ears, which i know will bend).  I have a couple of George's old brass thimbles, but I have to double wrap the ears around my finger a whole halfway around my finger again each, overlapping- wish I had smaller ones!  Maybe I could special order a couple?

Last question- to clarify...will it simply be first come first serve upon arrival in person, or can folks reserve any to be picked up at the Antietam gathering in person?

Thanks!  :)

Joel's silver thimbles are great. Get one. Soundwise, there's a little more attack and clarity than 'normal' thimbles have. ( What the heck is a normal thimble anyway? ) His brass ones are great. These are special.

Put me down for one, if you can, Joel. I'll be there this weekend, kind of late on Friday.

Thanks!
