This video marks my wife's first foray into Minstrel-era music!
Good job. I really like flute with banjo. Do another one!
Oh Boy! This is wonderful, and I just know you must be thrilled, Paul!
This is kind of what Brian and I are doing at home as you know...after we play some of our usual old-time tunes....him dipping his fiddle toes into the occasional minstrel tunes I throw at him. There is nothing quite like working on a 'new' tune challenge together with your spouse or partner at home. It's a wonderful way to pass the winter evenings, for sure. :) Maybe we should all 4 get together at some point and try out more stuff! I'm guessing here that you are simply one step up from minstrelD/keyofG Briggs tuning?
Thanks guys. Yes, I'm quite happy indeed! It's great to be able to share these tunes and have a musical project to work on together, that's for sure! And yes, I'm in the E/A tuning. Next up sometime (hopefully) Les Sylphides and Silver Lake Waltz. Those two work well with the flute.
Yes! We have been rather obsessed with Silver Lake Waltz at home here...for several months now. :)
Vida sounds wonderful on the flute with the gourd banjo!
We've been enjoying playing Old Joe quite a bit too lately- it's simple but satisfying for two instruments.
Lets' not make that a one-time thing!
Ahem. We are waiting to see another duo video from you and Vida, Paul.... :)
...and still waiting.... ;)
