Those guys really got around. In the 70's they would visit my neighbors often when touring in the area. I had broken my hand in a motorcycle accident and was depressed about missing out on a summer of playing and would I ever get it back. Phil held out his hands showing me a row of crooked knuckles and pointed out that he had broken a lot of bones playing rugby in school. Seeing that it hadn't slowed him down a wit I felt better.
Oh that Phil Cunningham....! I love all the changing keys and they make this session tune really something.
At 0:50 I thought they were going to break into Beer Barrel Polka...lol.
Love this, love the combo of instruments, and of course these guys are incredible musicians.
I've never seen the Cunningham brothers but have enjoyed Phil and Aly in person and on YouTube.
Maybe musicians would slow down if not for audiences seeming to get such a thrill out of speed.
Maybe I'm getting old (I am) but I enjoy music played at a more moderate speed!
I hear you Al. (eh, what's that you say?) ;D
