Three days of banjo instruction, concerts, and faculty-led jams. This year we offer a full-time "19th Century Banjo Program" offering instruction in Minstrel and classic styles, taught by Greg C Adams and Pete Ross.
I am thinking about going, though I haven't signed up yet. I will have to drive by myself from northern Minnesota. I have not been to very many gatherings or festivals. I went to Bean Blossom a couple of times in the 70's when Bill Monroe was still around, and I was living just up the road in Nashville , Indiana. But I didn't fit in all that great with the Bluegrass folks. They were very nice to me, (a hippie girl) but I knew clawhammer and the Seeger strum, not Bluegrass picking. Now I am working on Minstrel style and melodic pieces, and building a fretless minstrel banjo.
Hey M'Lou- I'm not attending this event, but I can tell you that both Greg Adams and Pete Ross (teaching the 19th century program there) are super friendly fellows and both are terrific teachers. If you go, you'll have a great time! Ken Perlman's ok too. (HAHAH Ken just teasing!)
Thanks for the endorsement. I am going to go to Camp!!!!
