Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Shop Notes: Tombigbee River, aka. Gum Tree Canoe

I am calling this my "Shop Notes" series as it was filmed in my wood shop. So, here is my rendition of Tombigbee River (Gum Tree Canoe). Played on my homemade minstrel style banjo in my shop on a rainy day. If you listen closely you can hear the wonderful sound of the rain on the metal roof! Still strumming her mostly, but I am at least having fun!

Thanks guys, it was fun!  I am thinking about a case in the near future too, wooden of course!  I'll post pics if I ever get it done.

Excellent choice of a fine "story" song. Good counterpoint to so many of the other period songs.
