Hey everyone, I haven't been around much lately... my perpetual problem is too many irons in the fire, and I've been banjo-dormant for some months now, but I think I'm waking up.
A couple of weeks ago I acquired some nice old music, including a piano arrangement of Stephen Foster's Nelly Bly - the cover says "4th edition" and I believe the tiny print at the bottom says puts the copyright at 1850.
I was tinkering with it today and worked up a simple stroke arrangement. No recording yet as I am embarrassingly rusty - but here are some PDF's.

That's a nice arrangement Andy. I played it. I would suggest it wriiten with eight notes as opposed to sixteenths for the basic pulse. Also include the inverted flag for the thumb string....some of those phrases need it to complete your idea. That done...looks like a perfect "Briggs" arrangement.
