Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Those of you that have registered may have noticed the mentoring sessions scheduled. I will be participating and will be there on Friday. It is usually pretty informal....you almost can't tell it's going on. I would like to give a heads up to anybody that wants to hang out. if you have a tune you want to learn, pm me or post it here. Chances are if you like it, somebody else might like it too. I'll prepare tab and make sure I know it well.

Also, my special areas of interest are practical applications using the Hammer Stroke and Strike Combination Movements.

Looking forward to seeing everybody there.

Glad you broached this, Tim, let's talk about what people would like to play and learn in these early mentoring sessions.  Personally I'd like to learn some of the Hammer Stroke technique from Tim.

I sent in my registration and fee but never received any confirmation as requested.

Do you think that my cancelled check is sufficient verification for me to rest easy about any glitches?

We are still a couple of months away from the conference.  If things hold true to the normal pattern we will receive a packet in the mail closer to the conference.

What about us newbies that don't have any agenda yet. Any suggestions to get ready to head to the gathering? Any standards that I should be learning befor we show up. Greg, at least I have memorized the two songs we worked on in Harpers Ferry in November!!

The Harper's Ferry repertoire is solid....i recommend it. I'll bring reprints of it.

Or, post it online ahead of time.
