I guess I need to get a copy of "Ryans"! I can't keep up with y'all...as much as I'd like to.

Tim often uploads the Ryan's version...perhaps he'll do it for "Haste to the Wedding."

Yah, I've been working off of those. Still, it is a resource book that I don't have...and should. BTW, thanks for posting the music, Tim.

NP...see you Friday.
Don't forget to tab in Briggs tuning, not Rice.

Yah, I did it in Briggs...but I transposed it into G. ;-)

Friday? Heck, it has snowed here...so I've been trying to get a decent version on video TODAY. No luck so far, perhaps later in the week. Not a difficult tune, really. Now I gotta get "Off She Goes" workin'...

Must make hay while the chilly winds blow.
Here is the arrangement I did with the accompaniment

What a fun day of hearing and seeing all these versions of "Haste To The Wedding". Bonus from Marc as he added "Off She Goes". John, you surprised me with your creative approach in the upper register...very slick. Marc, the "G" arrangement was nice..perhaps you will share it? Carl ("one take") Anderton and I seemed to grab most of those high notes in a similar fashion, including that one octave / one string leap. (Not sure I'd want to count on playing that one right every time). I hope this continues, and those that have the time will participate. I certainly benefit from seeing what others do, as well as the pressure of learning and producing a piece in front of the camera within a time frame. Who will choose the next one...does Marc has one up his sleeve? I hope we don't feel stuck on fiddle tunes, although it is a deep well. Perhaps an arrangement of a vocal piece from the period, or an overlooked gem from one of the tutors?
I know I chose last week's selection, and Marc has dibs, but for lack of anything else, how about taking something everyone has done, and seeing the differences? I was thinking about Jim Along Josie. If doing vocals, keep it to 2 verses plus 1 banjo verse alone. We may get more players to try this, and it would be interesting to see how different people handle this. Let's keep it clean, avoid the N word. Will this do, or does someone have a better suggestion?
