Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Wes Merchant, I believe that the tune book you brought to Antietam that was missing the front and back covers is "Violin Without A Master", published in 1850 by Oliver Ditson......Not to be confused with "Howe's Violin Without A Master".   At least I find "Kentucky Reel" on page 23 and "The Heart Bowed Down" on page 47 as does your book.   I think I may have all the pages, the last tune being the 4th and 5th part of Cotillon No. 8 Opera Sett, on page 79.  I can send a copy of the front cover as soon as I resolve the problems with my printer/scanner.  It certainly looks as though my copy came from a printout from an online tunebook but I cannot find it.

Thanks Al for checking and yes it would be great to have the cover. I'm looking forward to having the opportunity to do some tunes with you next year.
