Southern New Englanders???

Hello Everyone,

    I'm new to Minstrel Banjo (the website and as a player). I live in eastern Massachusetts about 20 minutes from Providence, Rhode Island and was wondering if there were any other Minstrel Banjo enthusiasts around my neck of the woods?  Please give a shout!

I'm in central Massachusetts, up on the New Hampshire border.  There are a few of us around.  We tried to pull a one-day, informal 'New England Early Banjo Gathering' together a couple of years ago but it never quite happened.

I'm a Los Angeles transplant from CT but would be interested in your goings-on.  I'm quite interested in the history back there and have done some research.  So many of the 19th & early 20th C. players were from New England.  Really love minstrel banjo and classic 5 string.

   My great grandfather was a cork-faced minstrel banjo player in those days.  If you go to my page, I have photos of him.  Check it out.

Also...my great granddad was a New Englander and the photos were actually taken in Connecticut!
