Wind blown first verse....so I cut it out. Couldn't resist sitting out here to play a tune today. Cool White...right?

Makes me want to sit right there too! Very enjoyable.
Tell me about the extra beat you are putting in the last of of the instrumentals- is it written crooked that way in a tutor, or something you put in yourself? My husband fiddles a lot of crooked Kentucky tunes...I love them but not so good for dances! ;)
Not real sure what you mean, but I just vamp before verses...no set length. Thought I had 4 beats however.
Maybe I'm just hearing the beat emphasis differently on the instrumental part than the verse parts. I do hear the initial vamping, but I'm having a hard time hearing the 16 beats in the instrumental part so that it comes out even in my brain. Cuold be just pine pollen clogging my ears! lol!
That banjo really does sound yummy.
Here's a version with a jawbone. That one-legged jawbone was never going to walk, so Mr. Bennett, the percussion player, has a two legged one now that he keeps on a little leash.
Gosh I can't wait 'til I'm playing my Bell banjo too (from a kit).
Yea, playing alone I take more liberty coming in and out of sections....might be added beats. I guess more going into it.
