This little tune sits innocently at the end of the book and one could easily overlook it. It is in arcane French and the whole thing is but a few measures of melody. Mark shows his real genius at reconstruction here! The translation is excellent. It is not simply a literal translation but rendered in English such that the lines scan very pleasingly. The arrangement is first class and the performance is just perfect in my opinion! On top of all of that, the paintings Mark has combined with the performance is completely engaging. BRAVO Mark!

Delightful arrangement, Mark.  I like the whistle in here too.
I notice in the images, the large tambourines are being played more like the way a frame drum might be set on the lap or the ground.  Also in one, possibly snare strings are strung across the tambourines.

A brief lesson in Italian. Saying “large tambourine” is like calling a cello a large violin. The correct name is Tamburello. “Tambourine” is the little one. ;-)

Tambour is “drum.” Tambourine is the little guy. Mark has the BIG one.

A tambouron or tamboron, perhaps?  (on being the 'big' suffix in Spanish)    :D
