Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

This tune has bugged me for a couple of years. It's played throughout the PBS series "House Divided" much like "Ashokan Farewell" runs through the "Civil War" series. It's probably in 'D' rather than 'G' but it's easy to play on banjo in 'G', so that's how I'm sending it. I don't know if it is contemporary to Lincoln's time or a more recently-composed tune. I'm hoping the former but I've never stumbled upon it in mid-19th C tune books. Please! Does anyone know what it is????????

Here's a lead for you-

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/features/cast-crew/linco...

The credits list composer Michael Bacon (brother of actor Kevin Bacon) as composing the music.

You could email him and ask!: http://www.michaelbaconmusic.com/
