Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

I was playing a rather sad tune and soon realized it was the new years eve song and after diggin around a lil learned it's name and lyrics and such. Was curious if there is a version of this tune in any of the tutors that I may be missing out on.

I keep playing it as a sad, gut wrenching affair and was wondering if I could pep it up a lil so I may actually play it come new years eve without drowning folks in their own tears haha

Burns song, isn't it?  Don't speed it up TOO much.

According to Wikipedia, "The tune to which "Auld Lang Syne" is commonly sung is a pentatonic Scots folk melody, probably originally a sprightly dance in a much quicker tempo."  So speeding it up a little would seem logical.

I've been playing it slow and sad and then on the last repeat I speed it up quite a bit to get the blood flowing again.
