Event Description

So far, an informal get together for those interested in sharing their passion for minstrel banjo in the New England area. This can be a one day event or the whole weekend as far as I am concerned. Lets see if this takes on a life of its own...I would be happy to add the idea of turning this into a banjo building weekend as well. I have a full wood shop and am completing my third banjo, a gourd banjo, and could tutor someone along if they wanted to get a jump start on building one.

I live on a farm and have a few animals that get us up and out early. I was thinking 8:30 am until the cows come home again! ( no I don't really have a cow) I did offer to work on building if anyone is interested so I may be in the shop bending up a rim when folks start to arrive.

Comment by Brian Glass on August 9, 2012 at 7:19pm: Folks, unfortunately it looks like this event has fallen apart last minute and we will be canceling it. We had quite a few hopefulls but when push came to shove, people couldn't make it. At least we tried to put together the first New England Gathering :-( I still plan to be in the shop working on a few banjo projects just in case someone shows up unexpectedly. Play on and let me know when the next gathering is!
