Good stuff!!
Okay, where did you find that? I recognize the B part from another minstrel tune for which I cannot remember the title, but I do not recognize the A part at all.
Forgot to mention that's some great playing.
oh man, I love this! I got to learn this,, but I will never be able to play it that fast.:( wonderful playing , my hats again off to you mam.
Part B is from the BeeGum reel. Part A does sound familiar, but I don't recall the name of the tune either.
Good catch, John.
glad y'all like it, i meant to put a description on it but forgot to - this is a tune that just jumped out of my banjo one day after playing this stuff daily for a while...i've never played bee gum reel but who knows, i may have heard it and had it lodge in my brain in a secret corner. I'll check out bee gum and see if i can alter mine a little bit, or maybe i'll just leave it, there's only so many licks in the world! :)
Part A makes a good companion to Briggs' Reel. I tend to play Briggs' reel followed by Bee Gum. That's good stuff Rhiannon.
see the tunes know who they want to be next to! :)
The A part of this song reminds me of a song which appears periodically on my Georgia Yellowhammers Pandora station. I'll make a point to play it - as much as I can without driving Mrs. Silas crazy - and listen for the tune. I'll report back after I encounter it.
Any luck Silas?
