From the 1851 Howe's Instructor for the Guitar. A peek at one of the earliest publications for pop guitar. Relies heavily upon the Classical influence...especially carulli.

Excellent!
Thanks. One value I see in exploring this is the light it sheds on the early fingerstyle banjo songs....ala Converse and Buckley. There are a few polkas I will also try. Very much in style with the work of Buckley 9 years later.
Also, more insight into the minds of those that produced our "tutors"
Title...random pick, but a crazy title...especially today.
Very nice guitar intrusion there!
When I switch from banjo to classical guitar the guitar's fingerboard feels as wide as a highway...
Yea, you're right.
Nice waltz and nice job. I'm always looking to add waltzes to my repertoire. It appears that was written in A(?). Have you transposed it for banjo? If not, I think I will attempt to do so when I have a chance.
Ugh! That didn't work. I see the TAB in the SYRIAN WALTZ screen but not on the main page.
Can someone help me learn to send a visual? I sent a JPG. Should it be a PDF?
I would post it as a JPEG in the photo section.
