The first 10 seconds or so are pretty rough due to ALAS (A Live Audience Syndrome); after that we find the groove.

I didn't detect any ALAS!  I think "Anthony Street" is usually played with the high bass.  Are "St. Pat's Day" and "Fisher's" as well or isn't the fourth string played so you can get around it.  I'm too lazy to go get my banjo off the wall and find out.

St pat's and fisher's are easy to play low bass, just fretting the appropriate notes. However I'm playing everything high bass here since Anthony street is easiest that way. Regarding ALAS, the thumb of my right hand felt frozen for about 10 seconds at the beginning causing me to flub a few notes of st pat's.

On several occasions, I've discovered my bow to be sliding off toward the scroll at the beginning of a public gig!  ALAS, what can I do?!?

That was awesome! Love that banjo and really gave it to that Anthony street. And kudos to Ron, most guitar players I try to join forces with just kinda gloss over and request more modern tunage.

Yeah - Ron is great. He's playing on an 1881 Martin, and he's really into the spirit of the whole thing.
