For enthusiasts of early banjo
Buckley's New Banjo book 1860
Ah sweet. This one goes by many names. I think this stuff sounds way better on fiddle....or at least we have a departure point to understand why these songs crept into the banjo repertoire. Perhaps not the active repertoire, but sourced in these tutors .Please continue to post these...especially the "Back of the Buckley Book."
Thanks Tim this is a really fun tune, I appreciate your encouragement. I'm not a fast reader so it takes a bit to work this out , but there will be more on the way.
Nice! It's fun hearing this on the violin, and comparing it to the banjo version. Both instruments together would work, I think.
Bob I think you're right this would be a good banjo and fiddle piece, I can almost hear a kind of call and response thing with the fiddle and banjo trading licks on the 4th line.
