In Port Dover we're trying to save an old dam and the mill pond behind it, which is called " Silver Lake".

This could be the theme song of the Save Silver Lake campaign. Thanks Tim.

Still as pretty as last time I listened, Tim!   :)

I looked on Youtube for other renditions today, and I discovered that "Silver Lake Waltz" was also a popular and recorded (Finnish?) waltz, seemingly unrelated to Converse's waltz of the same name.

For your viewing pleasure, the 'other' Silver Lake Waltz:

Now, I must confess this vid creeped me out a bit.  The keyboard player at 0:22 min gives us the Hairy Eyeball and might be related to Benny Hill.  Then someone seems to be dancing with a pirate with a hook at about 1:50.  And I think the guy at 2:15 is wearing a Groucho Marx disguise...   =8-o

Before the advent of Youtube, I would never have been exposed to things like this.   !

Thank you so kindly.

Someday, after I have really combed through the repertoire, I am going to get a nice fretted period instrument, and redo all the ones I think set better that way.

That instrument is my old Moschella Tacky...a fine one.
