Prust Minstrel Banjo
This is a demonstration of a Minstrel Banjo made by Eric Prust. If you've ever thought about trying this style of music but hesitate to shell out major bucks, then this is one solution. No excuse not to get strokin' any more. It is certainly worth the $200.00 he asks for. It is a 13" rim, calfskin head, and nylon strings. I'm sure gut would change the character of this instrument a bit. The tunes are from the Dobson "New System For The Banjo" of 1877. I tried two brand new songs...one Stroke Style (Mark Jig) that went up a little bit, and a Fingerstyle song (Roone's Jig).

Very nice sound. I don't like the sound of the Prust banjo nearly as well as the Bell & Son William Boucher banjo, but I do like this very bright-sounding banjo a lot. Next time I'm shopping for a banjo (and after I get my next Boucher from Mr. Bell, and a Stichter), I'll be looking for this one. Thanks for demonstrating its tonal qualities - of course, your playing makes any banjo sound good.
