Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

I did not have the patience to track the music down to this 19th century dance piece, so I grabbed it by ear. The melody and form was so infectious, I couldn't resist. It was intended for an ensemble. This one's not over yet...I'll be vack with an arrangement.

Glad to seen that my redundant purchase has had some benefit.   The version I think you learned comes from Howe's Fifty Contra Dances, c.1860.   If that proves hard to find, I recall that Chuck Krepley had the book of music for that CD or you could order it, if interested, from
