Cool, thanks Bob, was never made into a melody before the Seegers?

I don't know.  You can search Google Images for "Who Killed Cock Robin?" and find many beautifully illustrated books containing the poem dating back to the early 19th century.   But I've never found any early sheet music, suggesting a melody for the poem.  The Seeger version is the first time I've heard the poem set to music.   I'll have to do a little more research to see if I can find out where they acquired the melody.  Meanwhile, listening to the snippet on my laptop computer last night it sounded like Mike Seeger singing.  But on my iPad, it sounds like Peggy Seeger.  So I'm sorry if I confused Peggy for Mike in my previous comment.   I know that Mike recorded the song again on a later CD.

You could go to Peggy's website and ask her.  I've done that.

Are there liner notes?

To me this gives off a really swampy, bayou feel (especially the very beginning) and I really like it.
