Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Inspired by the "Songs" thread. Here's one of Stephen Foster's best (if gloomiest) songs.
It's lower than I might normally be inclined to sing it - but the idea of re-tuning up to C in 99% humidity scared me off. Definitely a "seat of the pants" banjo arrangement. Sorry about the shirt.

Very thoughtful arrangement Ian. I enjoyed it immensely. I especially appreciated your slow arpeggiation with the lead finger as you played downstroke. Your transition from downstroke to fingerstyle reminded me of Briggs suggestion of the acceptability of playing vocal pieces in either "banjo style" or by plucking with the fingers. Great job!

Wonderful, Ian. Some Scottish elements in there. Interesting how everyone plays the solo 'Hard Times' at a fast speed. I love this perfomance!
