From Phil Rice's Method for the Banjo (1858) I've changed the interlude a bit to make it more friendly for solo banjo performance. Wanted to try it again with more of a blues approach but my camera died!

Thanks, Steve for pointing this one back out to me. I'd forgotten about it!
That sounded real good, Mark, but why does the video just under this one, marked "Down in Alabama" sound so much lke "Ruben's Train?" Am I missing something ?.--Confused as usual--Rob Morrison
Well, there must have been some sort of computer glitch, because now the aforementioned "Ruben's Train" video has completely disappeaered from my screen. And I haven't ingested any strange liquids or anything. I swear. Next time something like this happens I'll keep quiet about it.--Rob Morrison
Good singing and playing! - check this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMD2ser9lzs for some chicken or egg, sacred/secular, early-American musical genetics.
Good job. Pretty much the same tune as the Skillet Lickers - The Old Gray Mare (Took A Kick At The Whippletree down in Alabama) from the 1920s.
That's clean. Nice and relaxed. No hurry. Great performance. Makes me want to go back to that tune. I've already pulled out my copy of Rice. Time to re-tab it as I didn't care for my earlier attempt.
Mark, I think it sounds great!
Thanks for the link, Ian! Enjoyed that a lot.
