Cracovienne- Dobson Universal 1882.wmv

Compare to "Ethiopean Cracovienne" in Briggs. Also, this version is almost exactly the same as the fiddle version found in Howe's (less 2 sections). It is also the basis of "Walk Jaw Bone".

This is really a good one to examine and compare with Briggs. Notice the key change and added thumb string. "Ethiopean Cracovienne" is truly a great arrangement. I think the best banjo repertoire lies not in the direct copying of fiddle music (althoiugh that is fine)  but adapting and arranging specifically for the instrument.

As an aside, that's exactly what banjos payers have been doing for for the past couple hundred years or so, skipping the part where you you publish the arrangement.
