Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Calabash Dance played on a reproduction minstrel banjo, tuned EAEG#B. I used this tuning as it is the one listed in the Converse book.

Hey, nice one Tom!  I'm liking the tone of your banjo.  Is that the banjo you'll be taking to Sweeney?

Strum, since this is the only banjo I have I wll be taking it to Sweeny.  I will also have my bones and I am toying with the idea of bringing my bodhran as well.

Soundin good, the three thumbs in a row broke my brain for a while

The three thumbs are actually written as two shorts and a long.

Hmm, my old eyes (and ears) didn't catch that, thanks Strum.  I will go back and relearn the end.  I like to try to follow the music as close as I can.  Pleanty of time for experimentation with variations once the printed version is learned.
