Dito!  How can we find a way to tie this success to minstrel banjoism?  Perhaps, Tim, you might create one of your original tunes.....with an old-style sound!

Better yet...re-write an old one, as you have done....

"There's a baseball game in Texas

That I am going to see

  It only has one loser

  Oh Rangers you are Thee..."

"I know you won't believe it

Until you see the score

Your chance to win the pennant

Is walking out the door"

You may shout huzzahs for Jeter and Robinson Cano,

But the Motor City's Tigers to the Lone Star state will go!

Thank you Detroit Tigers.  My two favorite teams are the Royals, and...whoever is playing the Yankees.

Alas, the Tigers are out.  However, any season that has one vanquishing the Yankees is a stellar one.

I guess the Rangers are the better club.  It is amazing that the Tigers were as successful as they have been.  They don't have a bonafide 3rd baseman or 2nd baseman, no bonafide lead off or second batter to set the table for Cabrera and Company, and lack reliable middle/long relief.  But as Carl said, vanquishing the Yankees was well-satisfying.....yet, I'm not certain how many Yankee banjoists we may be offending by expressing our views, here.  If so, I'm sorry for that....but you have chances for championships every season while the rest of us await decades!

It would have been nice to see the Tigers in the Series, but Texas is OK.  I'm with Carl on 2nd favorite team, although I tend to place the Indians at the top.

Says this writer who was born a few miles away from Anaheim Stadium and has followed the Angels solidly for four decades, Texas is not okay.  If they want to wear blue uniforms, wear them.  If they want to wear red, that's okay, too.  But red helmets with blue uniforms?  Bleck!   Only a colorblind salesmen from Nike would think it's cool.  Texas dumped red years ago, but revived it when the Angels commenced winning with it.

I'm pulling for Milwaukee, but things are not looking so good for the team formerly known as the Seattle Pilots.  If the Cards make the series, I'm not likely to follow it.  Thankfully there are other sports.  And there's banjo, too.
