Which book is it again that's being referred to?  What's it called, and from what year?  Where to find this book?

Keep in mind there are many new folks to this site, and also folks who have progressed during this past year.   :)

This was from a discussion about the book Joel came up with...The Banjoist by FB Converse c. 1871.

I'll bite on one tonight. I just read thru "Donniker's Hornpipe". It will sound great with accompaniment, but here comes a straight banjo recording.

It says "Strike the strings with the first finger ( nail ) and pull them with the thumb."

I thought for certain this was the book that would make the thimble official. Just don't see it yet...
