ALL CONCERNED--
i JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS UPCOMING EVENT AT THE WILSON LIBRARY AND MEMORIAL HALL ON THE UNC CAMPUS. THE FIRST PART IS A SEIES OF LECTURES ON THE HISTORY OF THE BANJO BY THE USUAL SUSPECTS WITH AN ACCOMPANYING EXHIBIT IN THE LIBRARY.. THEN THERE IS A A CONCERT WITH TONY TRISHKA, RILEY BAUGUS, KIRK SUTPHIN AND DOM FLEMONS SATURDAY NIGHT. YOU HAVE TO GET FREE TICKETS FROM THE MEMORIAL HALL BOX OFFICE FOR THE CONCERT. I KNOW MOST PEOPLE DON'T LIVE HERE LIKE I DO, BUT SOME OF YOU DO. i WENT TO ONE OF THESE SOUTHERN FOLKLIFE COLLECTION SYMPOSIUMS WHEN THEY FIRST ESTABLISHED IT, AND IT WAS VERY GOOD.-ROB MORRISON.
p. s. ALL THIS INFO IS AVAILABLE ON THE WEB.
When is this? UNC is my Alma Mater (Tarheel born, Tarheel bred, and when I die, I'm a Tarheel dead), so I would love to drive up for this if possible.
Genford--
The lectures are from 10-4 Saturday August 25 at Wilson Library and the concert is at Memorial Hall at 7:30 in the evening. I know this is short notice, but I just saw it for the first time this past weekend. Hope you can make it.--Rob
I sure am sorry I'm going to miss this...
