So....how are you deciding to tune your TWO new banjos at first?  What a dilemma of a choice!

@Lisa I am starting out with the basic minstrel D tuning: dgdf#a until I get used to playing some.  Might go up to E later.

@Silas No, I try to spend equal time with both so they don't get jealous.  Banjos are much more forgiving than people that way. ;P

Correction: I am starting out with G (dgdf#a) and D (dadf#a) until I get used to playing some.
