I found some nice nubby velvet upholstery fabric that reminded me of those popular Scottish paisley shawls and table toppers that were in fashion in the 1860s, so i made a drawstring sack for carrying banjos on those occasions when i don't want to bring a large gigbag. Of course, one has to be more careful when carrying a banjo in a simple sack.
I'll be bringing my gourd banjer to the Sweeney gathering in this, and my main banjo in a gigbag.
I made this large enough to fit a 13" pot banjo (like my Stichter), so it's a bit extra roomy for my gourd. It has a drawstring at top, an attached button tab to neatly gather in the extra folds at the neck, a shoulder carry strap, and the bottom third has a (secret) inner lining of fleece for a little bit of extra cushioning.
