You will want to keep a close eye on that nylon tailpiece rope, where it passes over the sharp rim. Also a whole lot of pull on that little melted nylon knot under the tailpin.  It's a lot of pressure from the strings, and one day it might be a terrible surprise when it snaps.  It happened to me on my jouhikko.  Maybe slip a little piece of leather in there between them?

Did you make the bridge too?  Looks super cool.   :)

I have used this particular cord a lot for other purposes, and found it incredibly strong. I would not trust a melted knot of it, however, and so I have a simple overhand knot on the peg, unsealed. I did fuse the frayed ends, just for tidiness, but they are not right next to the knot. I will watch the cord at the rim, thanks! Since I made the rim myself, there is a slight radius on the edge, so it will probably be okay on the nylon.

But here's a question: I fused a ball end onto the third string, under the tailpiece, because it is so hefty and hard to tie a tight stop knot. Does anyone do this? So far, it is holding. I was careful not to burn it.
