Seen in an appendix about Tombigbee River steamboats in a recent book by Rufus Ward was this little gem worth mentioning here :
"Cremona, 268-ton side wheeler built in 1852, over 200 feet long ; during 1855-56 season it made two trips to Aberdeen ; in spring of 1859 was Mobile Tuesday evening packet for Aberdeen and Columbus ; during the 1856-57 season it was the first steamer with a calliope to arrive at Aberdeen ; passed to Confederate control in 1861 and was used to transport supplies ; intentionally sunk by Confederate nave in Mobile Bay in 1864 to block ship channel."
