Site images, CSS

Photos are not showing.  Also some other images and elements like some of the member avatars, some video thumbnails, Event cover images, widget borders, page backgrounds, and profile page customizations.  Seems lots of the CSS styling code is not functioning.  Earlier today I got only an "Under Maintenance" notice when coming here.

I noticed when I uploaded some photos today that they didn't appear but it does seem an image directory is missing or something. Maybe permissions on the directory are funky.

Seems to be working again, for now anyway.
