Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Saw on the Historic Manassas website that events this afternoon and evening have been canceled because there are storms in the area.  Camptown Shakers presumably included -- I phoned the Visitors Center, and they said that event is off.  Anybody know different?

We were on our way down to the event this afternoon about halfway there when we got a phone call from Renny, our fiddler, who had already arrived. He told us they did cancel due to rain. Very disappointing, we were looking forward to playing. It had been awhile since we'd all been together and I was looking forward to debuting the new banjo. There was going to be barbeque and bourbon tasting too, it would have been a great time. I had expected a little bit of rain and had brought an old guitar stand to which I added two 25 watt spot lamps so we could have dealt with a drizzle, under cover, but I think they were calling for heavier storms. Its goodto have a signed contract with musician friendly terms.
