Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Does anyone (Greg maybe?) have suggestions for a good Devil's Dream tab for reference?  I'm still kicking myself for missing the Minstral jam last year - I shall remedy this in April!

Are you going to be there again Valerie?  Can you remind me how to "akonting tune" my five string?

See ya'll in Florida!

Cheers,

-Scott

Scott-

I am all registered for Suwannee. I am so excited about the schedule. The downside? I want to attend minstrel, old time, bluegrass, ekonting, and guitar sessions. I'll be studying the schedule a lot these next few months.

I'm working on my Bell kit and my Boucher should be well done in time for camp. After I left camp I kicked myself for not attending any minstrel sessions. I'm also bringing my bones.

The ekonting-ish tuning - tune your first string to an 'A' - leave the second at 'B' and the 5th at 'G' - or whatever those intervals would be.

See you in April!

Valerie

Valerie, you better hurry up and put your Bell kit together- we can't wait to see and hear it!  :)

Mark and I spent November and December making wooden puzzles to fill Christmas orders. So, my time in the shop was taken up. I'm in the process of sanding and am a bit of a perfectionist. I'd love to play it when my students sing Old Dan Tucker for our Arts festival- Banjo theme of course!
