Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Here's an interesting banjo. Looks English to me, and I think the rim and hardware are contemporary. I don't know if the neck is contemporary as well, and I'd be interested in your opinion. Regardless, it is a looker!

That's exactly what I plan on doing- I even have a few pots lying around that are candidates.  I just had to rescue the thing given the price the seller was asking.  It turns out the the banjo is a reproduction, but those crazy inlays and the neck shape are exactly the same as that found on an 1860s instrument that it was modeled after.  I wish I could find images of the original, but I have found the banjos previous owner, a collector in England who purchased it online believing it to be an original piece.  It's apparently a good instrument.  The only thing that isn't true to the original is the hardware, so maybe another option would be to replace that.

I'd need some extra fingers to play that thing.  lol
