Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

I am now the proud owner of a "Bell and Son" Boucher Minstrel banjo, which Terry has called  "Old Red" (I like it). With a figured maple neck and oak rim, Terry used dye instead of stain giving the wood a very beautiful deep reddish color and high lighting the grain of the wood.  In natural light the oak rim has yellow and  purple hues. Contrasted with brass hardware it is very pretty to the eyes. Workmanship is excellent, crafted like a work of art. Strung with Aquila Minstrel Nylgut strings, the tone is full and deep. I really like this banjo!
Thanks Terry

Congratulations....please post some good shots.

You'll be one happy picker, that's for sure.

Good luck.

What a Great Day...beautiful new banjo ready to make music!   I look forward to seeing photos and perhaps some videos of the new beauty soon.    :)

You're welcome Rizal. Can't wait til the next get-together. I've got a couple here for Genford and Strumelia too. A bunch of Bouchers, a Brawley and two I'm making for the President's Street Station museum in Baltimore. Whew.
