Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

This is a nice little book that I just ran across and thought I would share. Unlike many song books of this period, this one contains music.

Great find there Wes!
More of a stumble than a find. I was looking to find an earlier version of The Shelor family's "Big Bend Gals". I found the nearly identical lyrics plus an additional verse in a book of comic dialect poetry from 1882. It was titled "Betsey Jane", so I search for that and found this.
"Yo no busco, yo encuentro" (I don't search, I find) - quote attributed to Picasso...

I like that. I thought of you when I saw this song,
Yeah, I saw that one!

Some verses about current events included in some songs.  Thanks, Wes.
