Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

A list of 10-15 short tunes that folks can brush up on and have ready for sessions at the gathering.

I'll start

"Antietam Jig," Converse "Green" page 27.  Key of D, to be played as if the banjo was pitched in "A" and not "Briggs."

Carl - Well, "Weston's" is sure a a helluva tune!   I'm looking forward to hearing more about Horace next weekend.
You got that right, Ian!  I'm sitting here working on it and it's a bee-otch.  I notice Tim fingerstyles the rapid triplets over the IV chord.  That's a problem if you're wearing a thimble.  Gonna have to stroke those rascals.

Are there 2 Buckleys 1868 books?  I don't see Weston's Frolic in my copy.  Can someone post a copy?

Silly me.  Are we talking about the frolic on p24?
Yeah.

Here is a copy for anyone who would like to see the tune.

Thanks as always for that, John.  It's very handy for disorganized banjoists who can't always find their disparate materials, and whose computer time is limited by very tech-savvy teenagers.

Here's my contribution, though I will not be present to participate (sniff...!). Weston's Frolic, in TAB. I took the liberty of adding repeats where I thought they ought to be...

Many thanks, John & Trapdoor - Trapdoor, any chance you could throw the .tef file up there as well?

I am in your debt, sir!  What a great tune... doubtful I'll have it down before the weekend, but stranger things have happened...
