Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Hi all,

In my unending incompetence I porbably missed an obvious posting of this, but I was hoping to find more printable tutors than the Briggs from banjo factory. I don't want to rob the estates of any banjo pioneers, but if anyone is offering free versions of copyright lapsed materials (converse? rice?) I'd love to know. If the only option is a loosening of the purse strings and the shelling out of some hard earned banjo dollars, does anyone have a reccomentdation as to good hard copies?

happy strumming and jawing,

Cory

Marc, if you could send me just a few select pages, I will put the Buckley 1860 up. For some reason i am missing pages 18, 24, 25, and 75. If it is not available, it's time to make it so.
Thanks.
There they are! thanks gents. I had been reading this thread from my iPhone and the links were formatted as plain text on that. Plainly visible and usable now that I am back toa real computer though!
I hate to admit it, but I've been keeping a regular eye out to see if Buckley's 1860 has been posted. Being a beggar, I didn't want to bother anyone about this. I'm hoping to spend some time in this manual because it's one of the biggies for my time period. I learned much from the reprint of Rice. I am hoping to get as much from Buckley's 1860.

My fault. I haven't been able to put my hands on my original to send to Tim. I need a backhoe to dig thru all the boxes. We have one room in the house that is stacked solid with U-haul boxes...I can only access the outer layer.
Okay, little help here. I have the Buckley 1860 scanned in. It is a PDF file, but huge...124MG. How can I reduce or compress this to move it through the internet...down to 12 MG or so.
PS...I scanned it grayscale at 300. It is a stacked file.
Okay, I think i got it.
Try this link to the Clubhouse.

Way cool. Looks like I'm going to be busy for a while. Thank you very much.
