Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Thinkin' about the gourd banjo...thinkin' about this song. What the heck. Briggs', plus a couple of variations. Juicy little tune to dig into.

GET...THE ...HECK..out of here..That was Bad ASS! Tim, did you add that additional part. What Umph! that gives that tune. You could totally hear that as background music in a film score depicting the battle... I could visualize it.

Getting gigs for sound tracks, now that is an avenue that one could possibly get some work. Limited I'm sure but all the same an outlet for that sound.

I stole the minor thing from Greg. The theme on the V chord was mine.

This stuff is perfect for that. All public domain. I do use a licensing company for my 2 CD's. I get youtube royalties, as well as some independent films.

is it just taking the movement and starting on the 2nd then so fourth. Gotta look at that again. That is an impressive rendition. Creative  liberty at it's finest.

Yes, this stuff is great fun...especially if we have fun with it.

I would imagine there is a market for this music in movies. I wonder if in this next 3 years of the Civil War's 150th if we are going to see any new movies,or documentaries about the war.

this is great.

I have done several things whereas I give permission to use my music in a small film. The people usually have no money, so they send a copy of their film. Hopefully, they will have some success someday and call me back... ha ha. If you search my name on youtube, you will find many videos where I am the soundtrack. Stuff from all over the world....wherever some odd imagery needs a soundtrack. Asian water spiders, Indian monkeys.....very interesting.

Wonderful playing Tim, you make it look easier than it is. All that jumping around is not easy to play up to speed. One of my favorite tunes
