I was going to ask if it was a cittern/English guitar. How do you have it tuned?
What's the source for the tune. I mean can I find it on line. If not, can you post it.
Yes, both parts. The second instrument is an old oval hole mandolin that I have tuned like an English Guitar (open C), since I don't actually have one yet, but it's about as close an approximation as you can get.

I should've explained...... I wanted to make sure as the accompaniment sometimes made me wonder if I was hearing the main melody correctly.
thanks for sharing this one again yet different. This is the one that you said was found in the Bolling manuscript collection which is my family. I enjoy both version.
