For enthusiasts of early banjo
An F. B. Converse original from Phil. Rice's Banjo Instructor, 1858.
I wonder who Kiki was? Maybe Converse's cat? I almost adopted a shelter cat named Kiki once.
Rather a complex tune, Paul!
where is that?
Oh, sorry...just looked at the name and didn't play it. Guess it it isn't a good title to flaunt these days..ha. Much worse than a statue.
Tim you keep bringing up statues. Therapy can help. lol
Is Kiki a bad or derogatory name? I know Kike (pronounced KEE-kay) is the nickname for Enrique which is Henry in Spanish.
I dont see it in Rice anyway. Paul..?
The song is Darkey's Jig. There ...I said it!!!!!
Ok thanks for the clarification. Kiki's Favorite is a good name. I modified another song I like to play to now 'Where's Dat Cat'... since we're always trying to locate one damn cat or another here at our house. It's a beautiful tune saddled with a very ugly old name. Times have changed and it deserves better!
Paul, so who exactly IS this Kiki? Do you know anything about her?I used to have a very sweet pug named The Dutchess Kinky Ballou.
