Yeah, that was Vinny Tufo.  I took a lesson or two from him a long time ago, during my first segment of time trying to learn fiddle.  He was in Ann Arbor then, but has since moved back east, I think.

So many of the banjo pioneers ( the early guys ) were fiddlers first.
