Yup, pretty close. Clearly the same piece. Now, did Briggs arrange the fiddle score, or did he have another source for the version he wrote down? If he arranged it, what a wonderful arrangement, worthy of detailed study. If he got it from the playing of another banjo player, who, when, how, etc?

A world of difference, between the two arrangements. The second version utilizes the banjo to open up it's full dynamics. Excellent comparison for the two arrangements.

Very catchy melody. Good o'l Briggs. a solid go to when your wondering what to do next. Thanks for re-posting. Now to see if I have bitten off more than I can chew.
