She looks like a keeper. The nut doesn't look too low to me. Maybe too high? Here is something I found online: "The string slots for fretless banjo nuts should be of a depth that holds the string slightly above the finger board. Or maybe try a few bridges of different heights. They aren't too difficult to make. Or make one really tall one and keep shortening it until you hit the sweet spot.
