I find it wonderful that a piece that is so reduced down its absolute minimal essence can be so compelling and appreciated even today.

Thanks for the tab Scott.

Turns out Tim Twiss made this arrangement and posted it here back in 2011- you can find it here: http://minstrelbanjo.ning.com/photo/pompey-ran-away

I've also been advised that my timing is way off on this recording - something else for me to work on.

I just thought you were doing your own interpretation of it...and I kinda like it!

Thanks for the compliment - you are indeed too kind. If you want to do it yourself , just follow Tim's tab, but leave the first note off of the fifth and sixth measures - every thing else will fall into or out of place from there depending your taste.

Tim-  I think Scott means if I wanted to play it the way he is on his video.

Right you are Lisa! I have been playing this tune routinely for quite some time- but mistakenly.  After reviewing the tabs today, I discovered that I have been omitting the first notes of measures 5 and 6, thus throwing the rhythm off entirely for the whole tune.  Had Tim not kindly taken the time to point this out to me earlier today, I would still be blissfully abusing this fine old tune.     I'll re-post another video of it when I get it right.   What a great group this is!
