New format for the Yellow Book. Wouldn't it be nice to have them not chopped up? I know the Weidlich Book offers that, but for us grape lovers, it is a PITA.

So, do you feel the double format is good?
Yes it is, I think those that want to read but may feel over whelmed with the process will be able to satisfy there desire to know learn the song first, then possibly comparing the two could open the door to wanting to learn how to read. For me that was my experience.
I think I'll stick with that. This way. niether player is especially distracted, but the comparison is available. With other material, I use the originals, as I have gained permissions, but this Yellow Book requires a re-write, as you can see from what I just posted today.
I also am learning from the tabbed out Briggs and others. The 2 in 1 has value helping me correlate the notes with the tab. I understand it is a pain for more experienced players, but for us newbies, it does help. As with Matthew, thanks for accommodating all forms.
...and sisters. ;)
i think it's GREAT to have the 2 in 1 format. It encourages tab only readers to learn standard notation by comparing measure by measure, and the tab can help not only with fingering but to unravel any difficult spots/sequences that might be extra hard to figure out in the standard notation. So I think presenting it side by side really helps from both angles of approach.
I concur with endorsing the "2-in-1" format. I actually wish I had that for the Briggs tab and have cross referenced with the book. The "magic" combo for me has been the tabs+videos/recordings. I've always learned best by doing, seeing, hearing etc and trying to emulate or at least use it as a guide for whatever it may be I'm tackling. Hence Youtube is a god sent! I could see myself back in the day being that youngin' sitting down with an experiences person to learn more than cracking a book.
